Two Cents (1864-1872)

The Two Cents(or called Double Cent) coin series is one of the short lived and odd denomination coin in the US coin history. These classic, about 150 years old coins are not very popular item for collectors but very interesing and affordable item. The national motto "In God We Trust" appeared for the first time on this coin. The shield design on ovberse is very similar to that on the Shield nickel.
